What We Do

Snake River Search, Inc. (SRS) was started in 1958 and was known initially as the Idaho Falls Jeep Patrol to provide vital emergency search and rescue services for Bonneville County and surrounding areas to those in need.
Snake River Search, Inc supports SRS volunteers through direct support, community education and advocacy.
Together, we create an organization that works to keep Bonneville County residents and visitors safe in the backcountry 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year.

OUR PEOPLE ARE ALL VOLUNTEERS—WE HAVE NO PAID STAFF

When they join Snake River Search they bring a wide array of skills that are critical to search missions. Our current members have over 100 years experience in search and rescue. We train together at least once a week and share our skills and experiences to help each team improve. In addition to learning to work with our K9 partners and drone operators in search situations, we must also all be competent in land navigation, radio communications, wilderness survival, wilderness first aid (both human and K9), crime scene and bio hazard procedures, and disaster management at the local, state, and national level.
